How to take care of KitchenAid® Ceramic Cutlery
Using Your Cutlery
- Select the proper knife for the task at hand.
- Do not use ceramic knives to cut through bones, frozen foods, or hard foods with a rind or tough skin. It could crack or break the blade.
- Do not use knives as a screwdriver or can opener; it may damage the blade.
- Use smooth, easy-to-clean cutting surfaces. Wood, polypropylene, or polyethylene cutting boards are recommended.
- Do not use knives on hard surfaces that can dull or damage the cutting edge, such as glass, stone, ceramic, metal, or countertops.
Caring For Cutlery
Ceramic cutlery is guaranteed dishwasher safe and has lifetime rust- and corrosion-free guarantee.
KitchenAid® ceramic knives should not require regular sharpening due to their stay-sharp properties. When sharpening is required, a diamond sharpener like our KitchenAid® Professional Diamond Sharpener, or a professional sharpening service, should be used.
NOTE: Any knives with a serrated edge must be professionally sharpened. Ceramic cutlery lasts 10x longer than steel cutlery, so rarely, if ever needs sharpening.
