Heating Element Not Working - Dishwasher

Possible Solutions

Is the heating element working properly?

To test the heating element run a cycle with the Sanitize option selected. If the Sanitize LED is on steady (not blinking), there is no problem with the dishwasher's heating element. If the Sanitize cycle has completed, the dishwasher has reached its max temperature, therefore the heating element (which performs the drying function) is working properly. Today's dishwashers are more energy-efficient and the key to optimal drying performance is proper loading and the use of Rinse Aid.

If the Sanitize LED is blinking (not on steady), there may be a problem with the dishwasher's heating element and service will need to be scheduled.

Don't have the Sanitize option?

To test the heating element run a "1-hour" wash cycle and ensure the "Heat Dry" option is selected.  With the "Heat Dry" option selected the total cycle time should take about 1.5 hours.  Once the cycle has finished check to see if the dishes are warm.  If the dishes are not warm there may be a problem with the dishwasher's heating element and service will need to be scheduled.  Today's dishwashers are more energy-efficient and the key to optimal drying performance is proper loading and the use of Rinse Aid.
