Which Knife Should I Use?

Knife Recommendation from KitchenAid® Professional Cutlery 

Whether you're chopping an onion, slicing fruit, or cutting a loaf of bread, using the right knife for the task at hand makes life easier in the kitchen. Based on the knives provided please seethe intended Uses below as you use them in the kitchen. 

Chef Knife

Use: Among the most versatile knives in the kitchen, this knife is great for chopping, mincing, slicing vegetables, and slicing meat, as well as many other uses. 

Slicer Knife

Use: The slicer is great for carving roasts, turkey ham or other cooked meats into serving portions. The long thin blade promotes maximum contact between food and meat for thin slices. The slicer can also be used for chopping, mincing or slicing vegetables.

Bread Knife

Santoku Knife

Flexible Filet Knife

Use: This knife is a great multi-use knife — sized smaller than a chef but larger than paring it is great for cutting sandwiches, slicing smaller meat, and cutting larger fruits. 

Serrated Utility Knife

Use: Perfect for slicing fruits, vegetables, smaller bread and more. The utility knife is especially effective for tomatoes, salami, croissants or all small foods with a hard crust or skin.

Use: For all your fine edge knives — use the diamond sharpener after every other use to keep your blades sharp as new. Note — Do Not use on Serrated blades as this will damage the knife.
