Why is Ice Stuck on the Cutting Grid

Ice is Getting Stuck on the Cutting Grid of My KitchenAid Ice Maker

Ice can get stuck on the cutting grid for a couple of different reasons, if there is ice stuck between the evaporator plate and the cutting grid try the following: 

  • Ensure the Ice Maker is leveled properly
  • Check to make sure the grid harness is completely plugged in
  • Run a clean cycle.  Mineral build up could be causing the ice to get stuck.

Ensure the ice is not stuck on the cutting grid.

You will need to use one 16-ounce (473 mL) bottle of approved ice maker cleaner.  We recommend using the Affresh® Ice Machine Cleaner part number 4396808.
